Visiting Water Country USA with Kids

Water Country USA offers Kidsiderate® rides, attractions and more, for children ages 9 and under to make sure everyone in the family has a fun and safe experience.

Kid-Friendly Rides, Slides and Water Attractions

Water Country USA in Williamsburg is a family-friendly destination during summer. Virginia’s largest family water park is the perfect place to spend the day beating the heat in the pools, splash areas and thrilling water rides. While many of Water Country’s most popular rides and slides are geared towards older children and adults, including the new Cutback Water Coaster™, the water park still has plenty to offer younger children and toddlers as well. Both Water Country and nearby Busch Gardens offer Kidsiderate® rides, attractions, entertainment and more, for children ages 9 and under, to make sure everyone in the family has a fun and safe experience.

Child-Friendly Fun at Water Country USA

Water Country has several fun areas to explore that are perfect for younger children. These slides and aquatic play areas allow kids to explore on their own or with you by their side.

Find kid-friendly slides at Kritter Korral, a sea-themed play area. This area is perfect for the youngest in your group, featuring scaled-down water slides shaped like sea creatures. There are also splash zones, fun fountains and spray stations to get really soaked. Find even more interactive water features at H2O UFO. This is Water Country’s largest water playground for children.

For a little less action, in a kid-safe space, head to Cow-A-Bunga. This shallow play area is heated and showcases three slides for toddlers to make a splash. There’s even a water slide perfect for gliding down with your child, in a double tube, into a three-foot-deep pool.

Water Country USA Height Restrictions

While there are several attractions designed for smaller children, you may want to bring them on a larger ride. Many of Water Country’s rides have height restrictions, however, that doesn’t prevent them from riding when accompanied by an adult. When you arrive to the park, check your child’s height at a Height Check Station to see which rides are best for them to enjoy.

Children between 42–51.9 inches can enjoy Water Country’s rides with a companion who meets the minimum height requirement and is older than 14.

In addition to the kid-safe play areas listed above, children can also have fun at the Hubba Hubba Highway, Rambling River, Rock ‘N’ Roll Island and Surfer’s Bay with supervision.

Children under 42 inches can also enjoy rides, including Aquazoid, Big Daddy Falls, Malibu Pipeline, Meltdown and Wild Thang, with a companion who meets the requirements. A life vest is recommended on these rides.
