Three living-history museums and two national park sites along the scenic Colonial Parkway present three major historical events -- the planting of America's first permanent English settlement at Jamestown in 1607, the fiery debates on revolution at Colonial Williamsburg and the climactic campaign of the American Revolution at Yorktown in 1781. The sites span just 23 miles across a single narrow peninsula between Virginia's James and York rivers.

Jamestown Founding- Explore the nations beginnings at Jamestown where America's first permanent English colony site is preserved at Historic Jamestown, and Jamestown Settlement living history museum provides a glimpse of 1607 life.

Williamsburg Revolution - Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and scents of this meticulously resored 18th-century colonial capital city, Colonial Williamsburg, where patriots ignited the cause for freedom and laid the groundwork for creation of this great nations.

Yorktown Independence - At Yorktown, discover the lives of people who witnessed the Revolution at Yorktown Victory Center living-history museum, and walk the ground where America's independence was won in 1781 at Yorktown Battlefield.

The Historic Triangle Pass includes the following attractions:

• Jamestown Settlement: The Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery - re-creations of the ships that brought English colonists to Virginia in 1607 - are moored at Jamestown Settlement's pier for visitors to explore.
• Historic Jamestowne: This is the original site of the Jamestown colony. Stroll among the ruins of many original buildings that stood in the town, including the original 17th-century church tower. You'll also talk with costumed glass-blowers as they demonstrate their craft at the Glasshouse, site of the first industry attempted in English North America.
• Colonial Williamsburg: Explore Colonial Williamsburg's historic area; dine in George Washington's favorite tavern; watch trades people at their craft and enjoy over 40 unique shops and restaurants.
• Yorktown Victory Center: Washington's victory. Cornwallis's defeat. America's beginning. It all happened at Yorktown in October of 1781. And at the Yorktown Victory Center, you can actually experience some of what that ragtag, but undefeatable army of citizen soldiers went through on its way to a cherished spot in our history.
• Yorktown Battlefield: This is where the last major battle of the American Revolutionary War was fought and the place where Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington, the moment when we ceased to be a colony and became a sovereign nation.
